From Macroom  Co. Cork  Fiona Kelleher is one of the finest exponents of traditional singing to emerge in the last decade.  Fiona has enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and as lead vocalist with one of Ireland’s top traditional bands North Cregg recording a critically acclaimed album “Summer At My Feet” winning “Best Vocal/Instrumental Album of the Year 2003 with LiveIreland.com and touring extensively with the band for four years featuring at internationally renowned festivals such as Celtic Connections Glasgow, Orkney Folk Festival, Cork Folk Festival, Baltimore Fiddle Fair St.Chartier Folk Festival and Tonder Folk Festival Denmark.

During this time Fiona established herself as a central figure in the traditional song community and a highly regarded interpreter of newly composed material in the genre. She has frequently performed live both on radio and television shows with BBC and RTE and BBC Radio Scotland.

She has continued to develop a successful career as a solo artist since parting company with North Cregg and has been involved in many collaborative projects with artists such as Mel Mercier Micheal O Suilleabhain Ger Wolfe John Spillane and Niall O Callanan among others. `
Fiona is about to release her debut solo album “My Love Lies” produced by Donald Shaw of Capercaillie fame featuring new interpretations of well known traditional songs and also some songs written by well known songwriters in the traditional idiom such as John Spillane Cyril Tawney and Bill Caddick.

Upcoming work includes collaborations with local musicians and artists in Baile Bhuirne  teaching and workshops as well as a performance tour planned for early 2009.
